Hi I already have 10 chicks that range from 8 weeks to 11 weeks old i have someone that is wanting to give me 2 grown hens that are laying already ho do i feed the different ages i know the younger ones cannot have the layer pellets because of the protein so how do i need to make sure they only eat what they are suppose to

Its not the protein that is the problem it is the high amount of calcium.

You can feed a flock type feed, a game bird feed or even a chick starter. You will just want to provide oyster shells for the laying hens.

My birds eat whatever feed the youngest or most birds need.. When we have chicks everyone gets chick feed (non med) and the big girls have oyster shell, when I have mostly meat birds then everyone gets meatbird feed and more freerange time.. I havent had any problems doing it this way .. i personnaly dont have the room nor the money to buy seperate feeds for each age group

What Chris and Coop said. Older birds get mix for younger ones. (I just free choice the oyster shells for the laying hens.)
I mix my own so it is easy to adjust the feed for various needs..
