My cat brought me a baby quail and it killed its mother. It brought me the quail and it was fine. Then it started acting like it had narcolepsy and just passed away. It brought me another one and how do i keep it alive

You will need a brooder. I usually use a 100watt light bulb inside of a work light reflector. Use some paper towel for a floor in a tub or box. Usually the temp should be around 95F. For food if you can get game bird starter that would be best. But if not some crushed scrambled eggs would help. What kind of quail are they?

I looked it up it looks like a California valley quail. i have it in a tank with screen top. I put a thermometer in there and the temp goes from about 85 to 95.

Another question. It brought me another one a couple days ago. It kept passing out like it was narcoleptic. Why did it do that?

I have meal worms for my lizard will it eat those?

If you chop them very fine and provide grit. But as long as your out you might pick up game bird food. At our feed store you can buy a small amount at a time. You can also offer tiny amounts of canned cat food or finely ground dry cat food. They need about 30% protein as chicks.

I will give that a try and pick up some starter food for it. I just dont want it to die if i can help it. Thank you ill keep you in the loop.
