How to feed my baby quail

If you chop them very fine and provide grit. But as long as your out you might pick up game bird food. At our feed store you can buy a small amount at a time. You can also offer tiny amounts of canned cat food or finely ground dry cat food. They need about 30% protein as chicks.

Also quail nest n the ground so you might check for more chicks in places under bushes and thickets of grass.

There could be. I’ve seen wild CA quail in nature with four or five. Might as well look if you can!

Absolutely! It is so cute! I have six bobwhites. You know the part about keeping the lid on? We already lost one in a hole in our wall. Two of them got trapped in the bathroom a different time. They can fly really well really young.

ETA we have them all back and ok now.

Yes definitely. If I have a lonely chick I raise them with a stuffed animal.
