how to find a good home for a sweet rooster?

I see that there is a for sale section, but I don't expect many people are up for buying cockerels, especially a mutt. Is there a way to use BYC to find a (somewhat) local person to take a rooster that I am unable to keep? I know I can give him to a feed store, but I love this bird and would like to see him go to a good home.

I don't know where you live. But I hatched 30 chicks & 14 were cockerels & I just wanted hens. I put a sign up at my front gate & sold 10 of them for five bucks each & a friend took the other four. The sign simply said roosters for sale.I didn't ask what they were gonna do with them.

In the BYC auction section you could say free cockerels to good home for local pick up or drop off. You could also post on craigs list and free cycle and specify for a good home.
