I got them from Southern States who buys from Mt Healthy. I also got a layer that isn't what they told me. I never had issues before but I am done with them now. I contacted them about the layer and didn't get anywhere. I assume the same will be true with the meat birds.

If you bought them from a feed store, the hatchery isn't going to do anything for you to make it right. You'll have to try to get the feed store to make it right.

If you got pullets, you can sell them as started pullets to be egg layers.

Probably the best way to tell would be by their legs and feet. An 11 week old meat bird's legs would be really thick and large. I often marvel at their legs! A white rock will have legs more like a normal chicken.

We have one white rock pullet and she lays really well. We now have a cockerel and 3 more pullets to add to our flock because we want to try the boys for meat. I hear they make nice meat birds....it just takes them longer to grow. If that is what you have they look pretty good at 11 weeks! Give them about 6-7 more weeks and they'll probably make nice meat birds.

They have really thick legs---not the same as my layers.
I am taking some up this week. With all this heat I am afraid they won't make it much longer. I rather have a smaller bird than none at all.
