We recently purchased a "new-to-you" QGF 1202 incubator, but it stinks something awful. That knock your socks off, old gym bag, basement type smell and it is really bad after we turned the thing on. Is there anyway to get that smell out or at least knock it down some? Otherwise, the thing seems to work great. The guy told us the thermometer was running high and he used a indoor/outdoor one and we were a little concerned that the turner might not be working, but everything looks good and seems to be working correctly. Now, we are waiting on test eggs.

An odor would most likely indicate decaying bacteria I would use a dilute Clorox solution and then rinse well

I would also turn it on, close all the vent holes and let it run for an hour, then open it up and let it dry out in the sun. Hopefully this will help.
