I'm sorry you're going through all of this! I, too, have some tough health problems, two of which were causing me such pain and I felt like the struggle was so hopeless, that I felt like checking out many times. Bad pain just really sucks everything out of you and then jumps up and down on you with spiked shoes as dessert and I SOOO hate that it's hitting you, especially so bad and for so long!!

No one can choose the right surgery or health treatment options better than you can, but, if I can offer a thought, I'd like to pass on something a friend told me. It came in handy for me while I went through the toughest time of my life (medically and otherwise). It's that making important decisions shouldn't be done when you're really tired, really sick, or when someone's ticking you off; give up the problem to God (or whoever) until you wake up in the morning. You may still be sick, in pain, and stressed, but at least (hopefully), your body and brain will be functioning at their best to make a good decision.

I am lucky enough to have had some of my family members (no one's perfect) support me all the way through this, and all wanted to but were, as some of yours are, just ignorant of what you're dealing with. I have also been lucky enough to have gotten a (finally!) correct diagnosis and treatment on one disease, good surgery on another, and am still dealing (and always will be) with complications from another. Luckily, I no longer have to deal with the pain level you are. I wish I could take yours away for you somehow. No one who has not felt continuous pain at that level can really get any good grasp on what it does to you physically and how it affects your life. Two of my family members who are M.D.s didn't even "get it" at times. If there is any way that I can help, please let me know and I'll do whatever I can. Do know that I'll be praying for you and your family. Also know that some other people know just how courageous you are being and admire you for it.
I'm hoping things get better for you quickly.

I am so terribly sorry you are having to endure such horrendous pain, but having read your story it occured to me what a truly strong person you are!... you have tolerated this level of pain for a while and have gotten through so far, please don't despair (easily said I know)... you must explain it to your Dr and I agree with the other poster on getting professional pain management help.

Please keep the board posted as to how you are getting on, I will remember you in my prayers.... just remember one other thing, if your family can't support you through this, we can.....

to you

I am so sorry for all the pain you have had to endure!!!! You are not the first person to have drasticly BAD after effects to gastric bypass surgery. I recommend that anyone considering this procedure, read this post thoroughly and check out as many offices as you can.

Obviously, this is no fun for you. Chronic pain is the worst. Having suffered from some severe back pain off and on and trips to the hospital, I can relate a little bit.

It is also obvious that you are loved.

Love can conquer all.

You may have to endure some more pain, but when you feel that pain, know that you are enduring it for those who love you.

Prayers headed your way.

Hang in there. You are loved.

Please let us know how you are doing... If you are not physically able to sit at the computer, perhaps your wife could give us an update every now & then??

Please, PLEASE, contact a pain management specialist like Insiderart advised.

Have you heard of Mystery Diagnosis? You should try to get into contact with someone who runs it, they might be interested in helping you.
