I have a Styrofoam DIY incubator and I cannot get my humidity up to 70. I've put so many rags, bowls, etc and can't get it above 65. I finally resorted to putting boiling water in there, getting the humidity to 73, but the temperature rose 10 degrees... not good. I really need help and I'm getting 18 hatching eggs tomorrow... All help appreciated!!!!!!

why do you want the humidity that high? if the eggs are not going on lockdown yet?

Oh ok. I've just read that 70 is optimal. I'll keep that in mind then, thanks!
Yep, 70 is too high. I usually do 55 percent but different humidities are better for other locations. Good luck!

Just curious, what breeds are you going to be hatching? :)

Agreed you don't need a crazy high humidity. If you need to bring the humidity up, a spray bottle with warm-not-hot water is what I'd use, or a paper towel layed out that's wet with warm not hot water.
