How to get quail to lay more?

I got quail 2 and a half weeks ago, as I was transporting my quail home it laid an egg, the next day, it laid an egg. Then it stopped laying, what should I do?

Wait patiently. Birds hate change and the stress of moving to a new home has caused a break in her laying cycle. She may even go through a molt before starting to lay again. The eggs that she laid were in process when you got her.

What is the usual waiting time?

It varies greatly and to some degree is impacted by the age of the bird.. She may lay in a matter of weeks, or she may molt and wait months to resume laying.

I would give your quail a couple weeks to get back into laying. They don't like change and will stop laying after a move.
