How to get some meat on my pups bones???

My dog, by the way, was in fine weight when I got him. Feeding a high quality food has nothing to do with putting weight on. It's about feeding the best nutrition you can for their long term health.

Plus, if you feed a good quality food with less fillers, you get less poop.

What I did say was that protein is hard on the kidneys--and it is, if too much is consumed.

I got that. And it isn't true.

"If you are a long-standing diabetic and are frustrated with the care you've received over the years, you have probably been conditioned to think that protein is more of a poison than sugar and is the cause of kidney disease. I was conditioned the same way—many years ago, as I mentioned, I had laboratory evidence of advanced proteinuria, signifying potentially fatal kidney disease—but in this case, the conventional wisdom is just a myth.

Non-diabetics who eat a lot of protein don't get diabetic kidney disease. Diabetics with normalized blood sugars don't get diabetic kidney disease. High levels of dietary protein do not cause kidney disease in diabetics or anyone else. There is no higher incidence of kidney disease in the cattle-growing states of the United States, where many people eat steak more than once a day, than there is in the states where beef is more expensive and consumed to a much lesser degree. Similarly, the incidence of kidney disease in vegetarians is the same as the incidence of kidney disease in non-vegetarians.

It is the high blood sugar levels that are unique to diabetes, and to a much lesser degree the high levels of insulin needed to cover high carbohydrate diets(leading to hypertension), that cause the complications associated with diabetes." - Dr. Richard Bernstein (type 1 diabetic)

Give her quality Dog food, most dog foods & puppy foods have "Ground Yellow Corn" as the main ingredient. (Sad but true, check ingredient on any dog food bag). Which is aweful like eating junk food as a diet. Wild dogs don't eat corn.

I get a 50Lb bag of dog food at Sams Club for $29.00 & I give my dogs vitamin & enzyme (for digestion) Liver flavor dust called Nupro, All Natural Dog Supplement. http://www.nuprosupplements.com . Even tho dog food has vitamins listed most are cooked out due to the heat process in making dog food.

The Nupro helps their coat too, & is dosed to give ALL the vitamins & minerals a dog or puppy needs, with No Preservatives or Fillers.

I mix it with warm water for a gravy. This dust will turn any regular dog food into vitamin enriched food for both puppies & dogs.

Raw liver and raw egg are really good for them and a lot cheaper that Nupro, add garlic and raw hamburger and a tablespoon of Veggie oil and their coats stay nice and shiny along with them being protected from fleas and ticks. .

puppies can be like 3 and 4 year olds , the more you give into there cute little ways when it comes to eating and sleeping ect the worse they get till you wonder how you ended up with a monster .
Give her the food for a certain amount of time at meal times then take it away , No snacks no cheating she may get worse befor she getts better , dogs that dont have some physical or emotional issue will not starve themselfs to death
