how to give water with dropper

Earlier today there was a post where someone had given their chicken water with a dropper and some had gotten into the lungs, can anyone explain how to do this without it being asperated into the lungs? Thanks

You drop a drop along the side of the beak and let the chicken pull it into their mouth.

What I do to force liquids is dip their beaks in water. They usually swallow a little of it.
