How to grow potatoes

I was interested in growing potatoes in my small backyard. I am thinking of planting them in small wooden boxes.

How do I get started?

What do I need?

How big do these boxes have to be?

Where do I buy potato seeds?

First off, potatoes grow under the surface of your dirt, so you will be needing a bigger box for them than just a small one. You will need some good soil. You can use a regular potato that has some eyes on it to start your's from.

you can go to pretty well, any store that sells seeds, or you can just buy some potatoes at the store. there's a picture here of a potato that's starting to go to seed:

you can cut the potato in half and plant it. If it isn't already started with the eye's sprouting it'll take longer for it to come up.

I been having trouble growing them I feel like it is always to hot for them to grow good maybe in time I try again but start them earlier in the year so maybe they will grow right
