How to heal open wound

My chicken was attached by a dog and has a 5” diameter wound on her back. The vet said because there is no skin to stitch together it won’t heal. Has anyone dealt with an open wound that healed and if so what did you do to help it heal?

My chicken was attached by a dog and has a 5” diameter wound on her back. The vet said because there is no skin to stitch together it won’t heal. Has anyone dealt with an open wound that healed and if so what did you do to help it heal?

My hen had a wound like that on her breast. Put SuperSilver or a Triple Antibiotic Ointment on it and gauze. Put electrolytes in her water. You could also give her some scrambled eggs or oatmeal. Hope she is ok!

The Blue stuff from the farm store is your best bet.. Would segregate for hens protection.. Chickens love red, like bulls.. Toro, toro!
