How to help my stubborn drake heal

I did a quick search on Glucosamine... I found that there's a pill form, a liquid, a powder, a cream, and a gel... I'm guessing the powder would be best for feed. The cream sounds nice but I'm sure he'd end up jumping in the pool 10 seconds after I treated him.

Is there a specific amount that should be added? And since he and the females generally share the same feed is it safe for them to have some as well?

Since his leg is permanently out of alignment he will probably be like this all the rest of his life but you maybe able to make it less painful by using the glucosamine and possibly B complex to it sure doesn’t hurt to try. My old drake wasn’t able to walk hardly at all for his last 2 years I gave him a glucosamine tablet smooched in a small piece of bread daily plus they got nutritional yeast on their food.

I tried giving him a chunk of bread stuffed with half a tablet.. he wouldn't eat it. He picked it up and spat it out.

I am cursed with fussy ducks!

I might just have to try and mash it up over the food and hope he gets enough to make a difference. Is there anything I can add for pain? He's eating less because he doesn't want to get up and really struggling to walk. He usually gorges at night but he goes and lies down in the softest spot in the coop. He's still pooping but it's a smaller amount than usual.

I'm thinking of trying to apply some kind of cream to the joint before he goes in since he's such a fussy eater. Maybe an aloe vera mix? Is menthol-based topical pain relievers toxic to ducks?

I ordered some that will be here Thursday!

His knee and leg are hot. My mom mentioned she had a mineral oil pain-easing lotion. Checked the ingredients and didn't see anything that stood out ah harmful. Mostly just various oils and aloe. I smeared a small amount on both legs. He wasn't happy but I hope it'll help with the pain enough that he gets his appetite back. He is pooping a small amount of grain-colored food.

He's having trouble balancing and turning around, falling over multiple times. Hopefully the combination of B-complex and Glucosamine will help.

The DMSO I ordered is mixed with aloe. It does not say for animals but the only one that did was granules and not cream (for horses) and at this point I think it'll be easier for me to apply a cream than to get him to eat something.

This is what I ordered: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06VWPZN56/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I know it's lavender scented. I was going for unscented but the unscented version wouldn't be here until late next week.

EDIT: I have time to cancel if needed.
