HeatherJoe, 28 days total incubation... So that includes the time you are not turning, the lockdown period. It can go a day early or late but 28 days is the rule of thumb!

what temp and humidity for peahen eggsIt would probably be better to have a hen of some sort hatch them since they aren't the smartest babies when they hatch /img/smilies/smile.png Just make sure 'mama' is wormed regularly so she doesn't inadvertently pass something on to her peachicks.
I realize that this post was done years ago, but I thought I'd answer it anyway.. yes silkies will sit on any egg.. I have two that are just over a year and they've been sitting on my peahen eggsI have been wanting to do the same.. but I have to wait until I movehmmpf...
But I have been wondering... with my Silkie chicks in the brooder... Has anyone ever tried letting a Silkie brood the Peafowl eggs? Someone said they will sit on any kind of egg, turkey, ect... Or would their little Silkie butts fall off the eggs? But would they be able to turn them? How many would fit?
