How to introduce a new hen

I originally had a rooster and a hen. My hen is about 6 months old and laying everyday. Well, I sent my rooster to a new home this morning and I'd like to introduce a mature hen to the hen I already have. What's the best way of going about this?

I've never introduced a mature hen to my flock before, but have done it twice with 5 - 6 pullets. Just keep the two separated by a fence, so they can see and get used to each other, but put a net or cardboard on top of the new hen's area, so she can't get out, and the other hen can't get in. When they seem to get used to each other, after a few weeks or so, let them be in one area and see what happens. If they're too aggressive, try again a week later. Just keep letting them be together until they are comfortable.
