Belly--I just did this with my silkie babies. I have one silkie from an earlier hatch who is 36 days old. I have 5 new babies that hatched and are now 9 days old. I follow the advice of the lady I got my last eggs from. I put a piece of hardware wire in the brooder box, separating it into two halves. I put the one silkie on one side and the babies on the other. They could see each other and hear each other but not get to each other. I left them like that for a week and took out the divider this past friday. They are getting along fine with minor squabbling. Mummbles is much bigger than the babies and the concern was if she pecked them on their crest. So far so good. I think you may want to try the same as you have more older ones than I do. If the babies are pecked too hard on the head, it could maim or kill them. Good luck and keep us posted!
