How to introduce ducklings to adult ducks?

What works for one flock may be completely different from what works for another flock... sounds like you have a good handle on integrating already, you know to observe and watch for issues... if any happen, simply separate and wait longer...

I have multiple drakes and multiple ducks... many actually *do* pair up and go their own way... especially if you can free range them, this can work out just fine... just be prepared in case the boys get overly agressive to separate them into their own area for a while and you should be just fine...

Thank you....that's exactly what I have been doing. They free range all day. Any trouble I have is usually a couple drakes picking on each other. They don't hurt my female at all. She seems to be the one who picks who SHE wants!! I know it might not always be like this so I got four more females. But seriously they are such good ducks!! I've raised ducks years ago and loved it so I got back into it because I missed them.

Ducks do not pair up like wild ducks do for a season and 5 Drakes during breeding season will and do aggressively fight and generally all like the same Hen..Injuries or death can happen...Try it, you will be disappointed once your Ducks all mature and breeding season has hormones raging..Best wishes....

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions.

What I did do in the end:

I kept the little girls separated from the adult flock until 7 weeks of age. Then let them free range during the day, and back to the house at night with the adults (including the drakes).

No one was killed or raped, the older ducks really kinda ignored them.

Only issue was little baby girls being kinda bossy about the pea treats

Excellent!!

I do see more bossiness from juveniles than adults when I integrate as well... it'll sort out... great job! :thumbsup
