I may have finally found a friend for my lone Call Duck ...

Is there a "Good" way to introduce them ?

with chickens I've always had them separated through fence for a few days to a week and then supervise them out free ranging and if they all do well - I let them be...

Are ducks as difficult ? ...

The little duck is VERY willing to make friends (she's been trying with the chickens all week - to no avail) ... but I'm not sure about the new duck....

I'd like to know as well, I have 2 ducks and am getting 3 more this weekend.

I'm glad you found a friend for your duck, my two are lost without each other.

Its is best to do the same with ducks as you do with chickens. Mainly just as protection against introducing disease to you own bird. If there is no health issues- it can depend on the individual birds. How many you have- and how many you are introducing. I had some squabbles between drakes when I introduced a new trio to my flock earlier this year- but just over a month ago when I bought a single drake - I made him a separate pen and let him in it. No way was he going to stay in there..He wanted in with the others straight away- and there was not so much as a sideways glance from my original drakes when he flapped and climbed the fence to be with them all.
