How to introduce new adult chickens to pre existing 10 week old chickens?

That's not a bad video, tho rather shallow on info, probably the only viable chicken info I've ever gotten from TSC.....
.....now if they'd only stop selling those stupid tiny 'cardboard' coops.....haha!

Bringing adults into a flock of chicks is probably much the same except the adults could kick the chicks butts due to sheer size.
You'll need a 'look but no touch' area for the adults for several weeks, that will give your existing birds some more time to grow more and become a 'unit..
Lots of space, with places for the harassed to refuge, multiple feed/water stations, etc.
You'll have to watch carefully for injurious trouble when you finally let the adults mingle with the younger birds.

Yes we have that all from prior integrations. We have a wood pile for the smaller chickens to hide in. Several food and water stations around the run. Lots of toys and scratch to keep them busy and of coarse 2 of the introduction pens. :)

You should be good to go then.
How big is the main coop(feet by feet)?

You know I'm not sure. It's really big though. When my husband asked me how big, I wanted to do something that I could expand over time. Add more chickens without having to build on. I'd say maybe 20 by 20.. not 100 percent though..

Quote: Get out the tape measure..or ask the hubs.
Got pics?
You could do a lot with 20 x 20.
Maybe you can split the coop with a temporary wire wall as an integration space.....
......you'd need a separate people door and a separate(but adjacent) run is awesome too.

Yes I guess I should mention 1/3rd of that is a seperate duck pen. They were all together but I didn't want the ducks picking on the chickens. We have a 3rd pen we are working on right now for our bantams. My husband is definitely tired of it all lol. He has pretty much built it all for me. This all started with 6 pullets from tractor supply lol
