How to keep ‘em off the front porch

You are the person who brings them treats so they aren't afraid of you and want to be near you.
I find waving a big towel around my head helps. It more closely resembles an aerial predator than a broom. Aerial predators are the bane of chickens.
I love it; anything to scare that UPS guy again, lol.

Mine stayed away from the back porch for the most part till a hawk got one of the girls. Now they stay at the back porch and even want to come in the house with me.

Seams as that part of the yard is in shadow, blocks most of the wind and is close to the big people rooster that protects them and feeds them they prefer it over potentially hawk ridden parts of the yard. I have a gate to close but I felt bad about locking them way from the safety they sot. They got closed out today, will see how that goes or if they fly over the six foot fence.

So I went to check on them and see what was going on with the gate closed to the inner yard. They are clustered at the gate and back of the garage. I come up to the gate and they all get up and come to the gate making adorable noises of let me in please.

I got a nerf gun I shoot at the patio door if they are on the porch and I don't want to get out of my chair to chase them away.

We keep horse hay ( bales of Bermuda, Timothy and 100lb bales of alfalfa on the front porch, they generally leave the hay alone, but as you can see...nor the rest
