HOw to keEP CaRnIvOrOuS DoGs Out of the yard??

Where I live there is no pound or animal control. We the farmers ARE the animal control and we all own a gun.. Thats how you keep them away. If they have been there once, they will be there again. Period. I have lost thousands over the years in poultry and livestock due to neighbors dogs and strays. I have no issue at all with "getting rid of" a dog.
If I know it could be a neighbors dog I get ahold of them first. After 20yrs on this farm I have never once had anyone say.. "Oh.. Im sorry it was my dog" Every time they say its not theres, so I always say, fine.. then if its a stay and I shoot it you won't care. That dog normally never returns.
I did however have one I told the lady for a week her dog was killing chickens. Yes, this was my first encounter like this so I let it go on to long wanting to be nice. When I finely shot the dog on my porch with a dead chicken in his mouth the lady pulled into the drive way just as I did it. Of course she was upset. She said " Why did you shoot my dog, he never leaves my yard, he wouldn't kill your chickens" As the dog lay in front of her in my yard with a chicken in his mouth. How do you argue with logic like that? So I told her she was right.. her dog did not leave her yard, I shot the dog in her yard, brought it to mine and shoved a dead chicken in its mouth because I needed a new lawn ornament. My point being is you won't normally get your neighbors to help you out. The best thing you can do is protect your own stock. Laws provide that you can discharge a fire arm with in city limits if you are protecting your livestock. Unfortunately this is all to often your only choice.

I vote 3 "S" rule but first I would do the paint ball gun thing with frozen hot pink paintballs after washing the white dog a few times the owner will learn to keep it in his yard besides the dog will get tired of getting hit and will stay away. If not then the 3 "S" rule would apply.
