How to keep chickens warm

Whether you choose to add supplemental heat to your coop or not is entirely up to you. You can google things like Sweeter Heaters, various flat paneled heaters, thermocubes (temp. range controllers for plug in devices such as fans/heaters), etc. Animals (including dogs and cats) can live through conditions that are far more harsh than you or I could stand. Since I view my chickens similarly to my dogs and cats (in the pet category), I do try to make mine more comfortable w/a little supplemental heat on the coldest of nights (which we won't hit until Dec./Jan).
But do know that if your coop is draft free (but leave some ventilation open) and has plenty of bedding, chickens can survive in temps. down below zero.

With your coop, the chickens would be just fine at -80 with a 70 MPH wind. No joke either.

Chickens are tough!!! they don't look it, but they really are. You could see through my mothers coop (literally) she draped some plastic up inside, I really don't know why all it did was blow down. That winter is was -38 and we have some pretty vicious wind storms. They just strut around, every now and then they shake and poof up.

To be honest there is no where in the US that is too cold for a chicken to live outside, unprotected. Anything you do above that will only reduce the temperature they are capable of surviving. Adding heat may actually increase the low temp they are capable of surviving.

Well you taught me something today. I had never heard of Edgewood Wa. Googled it and you are just down the road a bit. Small world.
If your coop is dry and draft free your chickens should survive, but you asked about keeping them warm. teach gave you some good ideas, as well as the deep bedding, insulation suggestions. I use a small elec heater from ACE or Freddy's on the coldest days.

Imp- You're getting down into the teens at night?

So far I've only had 1 frosty morning.
