I need help and quickly! I usually don't heat my coop but this year one of my roo's is doing terrible I brought him inside 3 times he gets better for a little bit but he always gets worse, today I found him lying on the floor he looked almost dead he's still in the coop for now but I just dont know what to do. I have 44 hen's and 3 roo's they NEVER go out when theres snow on the ground (wich I hate because then I have to clean there coop more often

PS, He's A Barred Rock.

Hi there, How old are your birds?? If all others are doing ok, I would say he is probably better off inside until the weather improves & he improves. Good luck,

After a chicken has experienced 2 trips around the sun the time on earth begins to be limited. There are too many factors at play when it comes to genetics in the chicken world lots of inbreeding just to mention one.

Some birds just do not get dealt a good hand right from the get go. With the mass incubation that is at play in a lot of hatcheries today the odds are against some birds. Chickens do not live in a perfect world.

I know this is going to sound cruel and heartless to a lot of BYCER's. Sometimes we just have to face facts and cull when necessary.

Is he eating or drinking?? I would absolutely separate him and watch for any other symptoms.

There is no need to heat a chicken coop. What AStitchofKate said is what needs to be done asap: separate him. Watch for all symptoms and write a detailed post on the disease forum.
