How to Keep Dog From Leaving Mini Farm?

Hello! I have two dogs, and I live on a busy highway. How can I keep the dogs from wandering down to the highway or onto a neighbors property? What do you do? We have 10 acres, so it would be expensive to fence. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks!

You definitely need to contain your dog in some manner. Wandering dogs do often get shot out in the country especially if they are harassing livestock. Put up a smaller fence or keep it on a line if you can't teach it to stay near you. No one wants to deal with others dogs.

Underground electric fence with wireless receiver collars. Make it as large or as small as you want. My dogs don't leave my couple of acres.

You don’t have to fence the whole acreage. Fence a area in the back of the house. Living so close to a highway you need a fence for their safety. Where I live dogs at large could get shot. Especially if they are caught killing chickens.

We had the same trouble with our dog. Since you have two dogs, you could try a wireless fence. You could possibly have them on a trolley system but that is hard to do with two dogs.

My dogs don't leave the yard..I have a straw broom that works great at using as a dart when mine think it's fun to leave the yard........Catching them is key...
