How to keep idenity straight on new chicks

HI I WILL TRY TO HELP YOU OUT HERE, THE AMHERST CHICKS WILL HAVE GRAY LEGS AND THE REDS WILL HAVE FLASH LOOKING LEGGS. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU HARVEY

Thanks everyone for the responses I am using zip ties to keep the different bloodlines separate for now my 5 year old granddaughter thinks it great to be helping me by holding chick while I place tie on leg. Tony thanks for pictures of your brooder still not sure if I want to keep it wood or try and make the floors wires with trays for easier cleaning again thanks for idea a project to think about and something to do this winter. I have an air compressor with air nailers and staplers to help make projects go together faster.

The best way and also is permenent in case your bands or zip tyes come off is
toe-punching the chicks. 16 different combinations for each bloodline if needed.
Later on when the birds are just about full grown you can put different colored bands
or tyes on the birds for each blooldline. I do it on all my chicks, and the best way to keep track.
