So I've been planning on getting 2 geese and 8 ducks in March. I wanted to raise them together as one flock. But after doing some research I've found that ducks and geese require different protein levels.

Ducks: (Info from Tractor Supply website)
0-10 weeks 20%
10-18 weeks 15%
After 18 weeks 16%

Geese: (Info from a Hatchery website)
0-2 weeks 21%
2-9 weeks 17%
Over 9 weeks 14%
After first egg 17%

I'm just not sure how it will be possible to keep them together and make sure they're getting the right protein. If anyone can help I'd be super grateful I'd really love to keep them together!

Geese and ducks will usually do well together except during the goose breeding season at which point the geese can become aggressive enough that they may injure or kill the ducks. As for feeding them, geese are primarily grazers so if you have enough space they will provide for themselves. Duck (domestic) require added nutrition to survive and remain healthy.

I have 22 ducks and 11 geese that get along just fine sharing 3 acres. The geese get a little chopped corn in the mornings and then graze the rest of the day. The ducks get water fowl food and all the grasshoppers they can manage to catch, which is a fun pastime to watch. They are separated at nights and for a good portion of the day since the water they have is kiddie pools and the geese do not like sharing that at all.

Of course they get huge amounts of treats like Romaine Lettuce and assorted melon as well.

Thanks for your response! Is it only male geese that become aggressive during mating season or females as well? Also, would waterfowl starter feed suffice for the goslings?
