So, I have a hanging waterer in that is always getting filled with nasty straw. I'm having to go out there constantly to clean out the waterer so they will actually drink from it. Are there any ways I could keep straw out of the waterer?

Raise the waterer as high as possible (where they can still reach in to drink). I've even put blocks for them to stand on so I can raise it higher, but they might not figure that out, so only do that if your straw is very deep and they still kick it into the waterer.

I agree--if they're kicking straw in the waterer, it's too low. Raise it up to the level of their backs, or make it even higher and give them blocks to step on to drink. They'll figure it out.

You might also just not use as much straw in the area of the waterer.

YOU COULD GO TO HORIZONTAL WATERING NIPPLES. I DID NO LEAKS AND ALWAYS CLEAN GOT THEM ON EABY.
