I have a chick with a leg problem, and one crooked foot. I've tied soft yarn around its legs and that has helped it but it isnt helping the foot. I saw where you can make a 'bootie' for its foot but I don't know what material you use or how you even make it. Can anyone give any suggestions on how to help its foot or make a 'bootie' for its foot?

Hi, and

sorry your little one is having problems, https://sites.google.com/a/larsencreek.com/chicken-orthopedics/leg-braces

If it's a tiny chick, you can just use a bandaid - cut off the non-sticky part and use half on the bottom of the foot and the other half over the top. You can also use a piece of soft cardboard (like used in soft drink boxes) on the bottom if needed.

Site update: If it’s of any help to anyone in the future, the Poultry Podiatry website on chicken orthopedics & leg problems has moved to the new location linked in my sig line below.

Very glad the site is being of help!
