oh I forgot to mention I made a smaller pink leaf that is what is ontop of the bird bath in the last pic. O just attatched it with a glob of cement and the birds have a place to rest

Wow, great project and another good use for burrs. You know the root is edible on the first year plant. It can be dug and cooked in the fall or in early spring. I like them steamed with native trout and other roots like curled dock and evening primrose.

I will make a few cement leaves for around my place too. What a fun summer project! Plus they look like great Christmas or birthday presents! Neato, thanks for posting this!!!

I don't have the weed leaf in the picture and can't grow rhubarb but was looking at my zuchini plant yesterday and thought those leaves were probably big enough to do one. Will probably try it before they are gone this season since I'm already doing other concrete work around the house and should work great as I know I'll have leftover. Thanks for the idea...they are really neat looking. I'm building a small entry pond right now and thought those might look kind of cool to use for the water to run off of into the pond (like a trickling waterfall off the leaves). hmmmm...may be something I try...lol.
