How to make chocolate eggs

Quote:
I was thinking a thin layer of chocolate and then fill with carmel or marshmallow.

Ok, it takes work, but it's so doable...

Put some white chocolate in, roll around so it coats the inside of the egg, then let harden. Very important step, or the lines between the layers will show.

Put more chocolate in to fill to a point, where you like, let harden.

Roll some more chocolate around the inside, let harden.

Put some yellow tinted chocolate, caramel, whatever you like in for the yolk and let harden.

Top with more chocolate.

My DH fall for it all the time, goew to take the bite into the narrow end of the hard boiled egg and get chocolate. He looks at it and think it looks almost normal, what????

Kids and I enjoy this way too much.

Thank you for sharing this just might have to trying this I wonder if you could feel part way then put in some peanut butter then fill rest of the way. My kids would love it.

Yup, I just explained how to, but it takes more work. Think you'd need to make the PB more like the stuff to make PB cups so it'd support more chocolate on top.

Yum. I would think if you rinse the egg thoroughly,( the inside) it would be fine. To me they look like a lot of work...but I'm tempted to try it...personally I'd be happy to just have a solid dark chocolate egg.

To color the eggs like my pic, just put a few drops of color in a plastic sandwich baggie and squish around with both hands, then get another bag, 2-3 drops of different color and squish...and so on...I think I did two or 3 colors on some of these. Very easy, nice look.

Well just wanted to say that this turned out to be an awesome easter project!

I did all the hard work of cleaning the eggs and then ended up under the weather for easter so DH did the filling. He did a great job!
