How to make cukoo silkies

so u are sayin the first cross that the hens wont have black skin so they all will have white.i am ginna be usein a black silkie roo over a barred rock hen so ima say what i think so ur sayin the roos are gina come out barred light skin and normal feathers so the only silkie traits they will have is featherd feet and a crest and what are the hens ginna look like so i know so i can get rid of them as soon as i can.

correct.. don´t worry about silkie feathering just know.. once you get back to silkie(using your first cross roos over other black silkie hens) you will get more silkie traits..

it will work, all of your F1 chicks will be barred. you just need to keep an eye for the roosters as they are the only ones you will need at that stage

just to make sure I understand...barred cochin hen/black silkie roo...all chicks will be barred or all male chicks will be barred?

correct..

a Barred hen x Black roo... just Boys will be barred and the hens will be black. not only that, you will be able to sex them at hatch.. boys will have clear skin and girls will have black skin..

a Barred rooster x Black hen.. all of them will be Barred and none will have black skin..

. that is very cool. now, I keep a roo? do I breed it to a barred cochin, or a silkie? Do all the black feathered, black skinned girls have zero barring genes?
