how to make duck pond?

I don't have ducks but I made my pond out of an old above ground pool.

I have done a little research on ponds because I wanted to put a small one on our property in a couple of years and I talked with a neighbor who has a beautiful pond, I found out you can use clay dirt and no liner needed. You tamp the clay down, several inches worth and it retains the water. Because it is dirt, it will support plant life and therefore will help eliminate the need for filtering system. Also, you never have to worry about liner puncturing. Like I said, I just started researching this, but I think this is definitely a good way to go, just need to research a little more.

The Koi rubber liner will do fine. It is some tough stuff!
