How to mingle the flock?

I am more worried about how he will treat the little ones.

There are no guarantees with living animals, but my 6-month-old cockerels seems to take an active interest in "babysitting" the chicks -- mingling with them and apparently guarding them from the hens.

That is awesome! Mine is interested in them and when I put them in the coop for the night he was right there watching. I don't think he liked their protesting.
