How to modify lean to for ducks and what breed to get?

I don't think you should get more than 4 ducks, and really wouldn't get more than 3.

Are you going to make the pen bigger? Once you get a kiddie pool in there, they really won't have much room.
The thing is, ducks will get the entire area around a water source a wet, muddy mess. They love to dig in the mud, and put the mud in the water bucket and pool.

I am fortunate enough that my DH built a 100' x 100' pen for my critters, and the corner the kiddie pool and another big tub of water are in has a large area around it that is a muddy mess most of the year-----except when it's below freezing.

I do agree that the shed needs to be completely predator-proof-------so you'll have to put a door on it.

Alright no go with the chicken wire then and my parentws just said they would build a pond (That woud be to big for the encloser) but pretty much next to it. When they are fully grown will they be able to stay out of the pen when no one is home? And is the mud really that bad? Is it worth paving the entire encloser? And if we do get this pond built will they still need a kiddie pool in the pen?

So y'all think my duck was suppose to have a twin? Also should I have the claw removed by a vet? Like I said I have raised many cayuga ducks but haven't seen a topknot or a claw.

Any more ideas? And I'm thinking of either getting a black or blue swedish instead of a khaki campbell because from what I've now read they're shy.
