How to occupy the flock!

They are in a little temp run in the pic. They mostly are just running around the yard, but I stick them in when we're busy or not home until I get the big run finished. Anyhow...... notice the neck on the silkie. Someone was chowing DOWN

that is sad that the silkie was getting chomped on. If that is normal for chickens, I am wondering now......what have I gotten myself into???? I dont like the idea of them being so mean to each other

It doesn't look like she was "chomped on." That's watermelon juice running down her neck! It looks like she was the one doing the chomping!

It was being a watermelon piggie. The feet are icky too from standing on the watermelon and getting the toes soaked and then dirty
