I have a 7 month old micro pig. Shes about 35 pounds. She started getting into cabinets and we child locked them. Well today, I got home and she had broken through the child lock and had found a full 5 pound bag of sugar. She was proudly sitting in a big pile of sugary slobbery mess,(thank goodness she didnt eat tooo much of it, and she had her phenobarbitol this morning for her seizures) and my poor dog was hiding with her tail between her legs in the corner. Does anyone have any ideas on "pig proofing" my kitchen. I can do a full rearrange of my kitchen and move only non foods down there, but that would be a full weekend project and I'm hoping there is an easier solution. Does anyone have any ideas?

Maybe move the pig outside? Just a thought.. lol
oh my goodness, I could never. My gram keeps coming over and telling me "pigs dont belong in a house" but shes been in the house so long, and shes litter trained. her & my dog are best friends, I couldnt take her outside. I would rearrange my whole house if I had to before I did that.

We never found a GOOD way to pig proof anything in the house. You could try childproof latches. Our mini grew up indide but would much rather be outside doing pig things. He uses the dog's invisible fence so we don't worry much about him. He basically only comes in at night now. Good luck

yeah, we have those but she found a way to get through them. I turned her into a big baby, she hates it outside. I take her out to play sometimes but she wont leave my side & she just follows me around. I think Im just gonna do a whole kitchen rearrange this weekend :) I live too close to the road for her to be outside by herself. I have seen too many dogs get hit on this road and it scares me. Everytime I hear a big thump I have to go do an animal check even though I know my animals are safe.

Cute. We have friends that have a young micro pig and she's the most inquisitive and spoiled pig ever. I love to play with her. She gets really excited and starts doing burn outs on the floor lol
They have handles on their cabinetry and its all laced together with decorative chain and snap locks. Yep. To keep Charlotte out :)

hmm ill have to look for something like that :)
yeah pigs are the cutest, and so much fun. Nittany gets the biggest attitude until she gets her way sometimes though. She used to go everywhere with me. The post office even left me take her in with me because everyone loved her, and of course she loved the attention. Those trips always took atleast an hour because everyone had to pet her :). But she has outgrown her harness, so until she gets a new one, I dont take her anywhere. :(

We used to take Chester out for trips too. At 70lbs now it's not that easy and as he's gotten older, he doesn't really like strangers that much. Not mean at all just runs away from them.
Here's a couple pics of him. 1 is recent and the other is when he was a "baby"
