Since I'm here I might as well ask this question too. My turkeys have been mating and I think my hen will have turkey babies soon! I was wondering how to keep her and the eggs safe. Their cage is made out of wood and has 2 sections, the outside one with wire roof and the "inside" one with wooden roof and a pipe for them to sleep on. I'll attach a picture of the cage later but I was wondering if anyone has a above ground thing for the eggs.
Thanks

In a secure coop. ...a 18 inch sq box , dog crate or A quarter sheet of plywood leaning up so the hen can get in but not the tom. Some toms try to mate the hen when she is brooding and the eggs get smashed.
I have 2 metal solid dog cages stacked and one hen uses the top one, others used the bottom one too.

@Molpet will the hen come down to eat and if not how do you handle that?

She will come down, have to block it off so poults don't fall out. When they all hatch or 3days after the first hatches, she will bring them down. I have deep bedding so they bounce
