How to Price Eggs?

I neglected to add the carton factor.. Oops.
$2.00 with your carton/ $2.50 our carton.
We have about 15 loyal buyers. Most buy 7 to 10 dz at a time. I suppose they share w/friends/family/neighbors. They all call in advance and place an order. They always bring empty cartons.
We have an ad on Craig's list. We don't do drive ups. People blowing horns at my gate is annoying to me and my neighbors.

I have a big sign on the gate that says GOATS NOT FOR SALE. But we still have people blowing horns asking how much for the goats!
No Egg signs here baby!
I charge a quarter if they don't bring back a clean carton. It cost me .37¢ for a new carton. GC

It depends where you live. Everyone around here sell for $3 and one sells for 2 for $5.
I match that, 1 for 3, 2 for 5. My 3 customers buy from me for two reasons size consistency, any smaller than average or extra jumbo, I keep for myself. I also wash my eggs, that was the first thing all three customers asked, and would not buy unwashed. GC
We do that too with the SIZE factor.

Yeah, one of my customers said, eggs she bought elsewhere were anything from small to jumbo. Most of the eggs my girls lay are XL and jumbo. 2.25 to 2.75. I mix them together. Anything under 2.25 oz and over 2.75 oz. I keep for myself. GC
My extra jumbos have to be put in a flat and checker boarded. They won't fit in a jumbo carton. I am sure yours are the same. I keep the meds too. They look so small next to my xlg..

Check out this SUPER JUMBO I got a couple of weeks ago, 20170708_114038.jpg . Yeah, that must've hurt. I got two of these one Saturday and another Sunday. From my smallest hen. It was unbearable warm one night and she wanted to sleep under the raised coop, so I let her, but I left the under coop ramp down in case she changed her mind.
The next morning at 5 a.m. she was still under coop and right next to her was a dino size egg, 3.55 oz-101 grams. Shell was cracked, but membrane was intact. Both eggs were double yolks. GC
