How to properly release ducks?

Hello. I have 6 8 week old muscovies that I am trying to release into the lake in my back yard. I don’t have a proper set up for them, and really was just trying to help because the mother was killed. The 8 week olds will not go near the lake and stay right outside of our door. I love them but I really am having a hard time keeping up. I wasn’t prepared when I saved them. Is this too early? Any recommendations? No sanctuary will take them because they are considered a nuisance. Also 1 of the 6 has scoliosis... I realize he won’t make it in the wild but I’m hoping a sanctuary will take him. Any tips or suggestions are so appreciated

If the ducklings are friendly, someone wanting Muscovies might want them. They're one of the most popular duck breeds. Try sending out an alert on here to see if there is anyone near you.

You say that you don't have a "proper setup". What exactly is your setup?

Someone with a hobby farm might be very happy to have them and raise them in a safe enviroment

I agree with Jpat, It's worth a shot to try to find them a good home first before you let them out on the pond, chances are most of them won't live a few months after being released.

Is that the same thing as posting a thread? Sorry.
So we have this. It was working great but I don’t feel it is big enough now. I’ve looked into ones on amazon but I can’t afford one at the moment. It also isn’t secure. No bottom to it and I’m worried about predators. I have reached out to some duck havens and they all are at max capacity. My idea when I first rescued them is that they would live a happy life on the lake.

Thanks. Is the reason simply just because mom wasn’t there to teach them? I’ve heard stories where releasing them worked. I had no idea what to expect
