ok 2 of my 4 girls have been rediculously noisy for 3 days now. All day long. A rooster make less noise than the cluck cluck cluck cluck CLUUUUUUUUUCK. I put the older smaller one in chicken jail and that quieted her down. The other, a white rock, who hasn't laid an egg yet to my knowledge, is talking up a storm. I am not sure if these two are trying to take over as the head of the roost or what.. The Orp was the head hen but the little americauna seems to be trying to take over by bossing everyone around this week. I can't have all this noise in my neighborhood and don't have a 2nd jail... Help!

Maybe they are just getting instructions on laying and not liking what they hear from the older hens..They are saying " Not me..Oh no"

well I will have to get rid of them if they keep squawking... Would this be normal behavior if the top hen is being replaced... I figure we are overdue for a shift in power.,

Have you tried a "gag order" from a judge? The fear of being held in contempt of court may quiet them down.

I know, I know. I could use a gag, myself.
