If you are just starting in the chicken raising buisness, Let me give you some tips on how to get startd.

there are two choices, you can have a natural raising or a helped raising. The first choice, the natural raising, is pretty easy. If you have a chicken that is brooding, or spends its days just sitting on eggs, you can just put the chick in a confined space with her, and she should raise them. The second choice is to help the raising I will give you tips for this option.

1. have a space with enclosed sides like a cardboard box or chicken cage and get a heat lamp that sits two inches above the chick's head at the lowest. If the chick starts to shiver or seems to huddle under the light, move it closer, if it moves away from the light, move the light away.

2.find a shallow dish or chick feeder to put the food in, feed them chick starter. If the chicken starts sleeping in the dish, you might want to try a chick feeder or a taller dish, but make sure the dish is still short enough so the chick can eat.

3.Use a chick water tank or a dish just below the chick's neck, it needs to be this high because if the chick sits in it, it can die.

4.Cover the bottom of the box or cage with newspaper. Then use straw and woodchips to bed it. These help protect from water damage and chicken waste.

5. Keep the chick under a heat lamp untill it is compleatly covered in feathers and its baby fuzz is gone, keep it in the confined space untill it is large enough to compeat with the other chickens or else he/she will be picked on.

Hope these tips help. Have fun raising your chickens and good luck
