How to raise Canadian Geese

As the title says, I am looking for help to raise some Canadian geese. They are currently eggs and I want to make sure I am fully prepared!

Check your local dnr to make sure it's legal were you are, I believe that they fall under the Migratory Bird Act and it's federally illegal for you to possess them.

I think it's illegal for me to have chickens too. Haha! Well, at least the number I have... but no one tells on me!

Federally illegal is a big deal... Not like having a couple chickens too many in an HOA or something.

Yeah, I can have chickens, but technically only 7. We bought fourteen however because I live on two city lots.

If you’re in the U.S it is illegal to possess wild sourced migratory birds, no exceptions.
And if fish and game confiscates them as adults the common course of action is to euthanize them.

Captive bred Canada geese can be purchased, there are licensed breeders and it doesn’t require having a license of your own to purchase them from the breeder, you’re legally covered under the breeder’s license.

Canada geese can be fed a waterfowl oriented feed, they can be fed Purina flock raiser too.
