How to raise humidity or do I need to?

If you got the springfield hygrometer from wal-mart, then including mine, I know of three that read 7% low. So if it reads 53% your humidity is actually 60%. Calibrate it and check it out.

I have a calibrated Hydrometer in there and I have my usual tricks to keep the humidity at 60% but it keeps falling to 53-55%
It's just dry in California right now.
When there is less humidity in the air it is harder to keep it at the desired internal humidity.
I'm squirting in water as needed but it does get too dry while I'm at work (53%)
I'm a little worried.
Scheduled to hatch this Thurs

mediazeal--can you put the incubator in a small room with a humidifier in the room? If you can raise the ambient humidity, hopefully it will be easier to keep the internal humidity up too. Good luck with your hatch!!

I just set up my first incubator, LG9200, and am experimenting with humidity; with the outer reservoirs full it was running 55%.
I want to see what it takes to get 70%.
I just added a wet sponge and the big half of some plastic Easter eggs with water, in the turner. There's not much room with the turner in there so I figured this might work. Will update in a few hours.

ok...First...All hygrometers are off...you have to Calibrate them...then if off you have to add the number its off to the actual reading you see...I have one off by 8% and one 15%...both Springfields....Walmart...It easy to use them...they cant be fixed

I hatch in a LG and get excellent hatches...just have to know how to work your LG and the temp/humidity
