How to Remove Wasps in Soffit/Ceiling Venting?

We have coop ventilation with a ridge vent and screened openings in the soffits. Unfortunately the soffit screen mesh was large enough to let in some pests and has quickly escalated in a yellow jacket infestation betweeen the ceiling and the roof. They are bothering the hens when they go to lay their eggs, though I haven't observed any inside the coop or nesting boxes so my guess is that their noise is bothering the hens? Not an issue at roosting time.

I have searched quite a bit, but cannot find information for removing an inaccessible wasp nest without being toxic to the chickens. Does anybody have ideas? Traps aren't working. We can remove the soffits, but even with the soffits off it's not going to be a lot of room for manual spraying etc. if it's deeper in the ceiling. We may have to remove the ceiling for full access if that's what is needed, but I wanted to ask here if there are other options, specifically for chicken safety, for removing an inaccessible wasp nest.

Thank you!

The only suggestion I have is to cover the interior space with a plastic paint cloth to protect from over spray and use the wasp/hornet spray can. It can shoot spray at least 6 feet. This is what we use for the soffits on the house and it works wonders in between small crevices. Keep the chickens out obviously when you spray and let it dry on the plastic before removing and then toss in the trash or save for future applications, storing with the spray can.
