how to secure a pop door

I have a hinged door which opens up and latches to the wire tunnel which surrounds their ramp. At the bottom of the door I have a barrel bolt mounted vertically. I drilled a hole in the very top of the ramp to mount the receiving part of the bolt. The bolt is seccured with a brass padlock. I don't actually lock the lock. It's just there as a deterrent and a raccoon thwarter.

I'm a believer in the guillotine style door. Ours slid up and down in simple wooden guide tracks and the bottom settled in a slot so that no animal could get a nose under it. Since it was relatively heavy and smooth, nothing could lift it from the outside. We hooked the top to a pair of pulleys so we could raise and lower the door from a remote location. That meant one person could shoo them in and another could drop the door before they changed their minds. Never had anything get in that way.
