Hi all, as the title I'm looking for suggestions on how I can lock and easily open this run?

I'm currently using 4 pieces of wire threaded through and twisted to secure. Its proving a pain.

Any thoughts?

Many thanks :)

PS. the door swings upwards via zip ties.

Tiny carabeeners. Like the 1" ones if those would work bigger if not. That's what I'd do. That's what I DO do.
If it doesn't close the door tight enough construct a couple of wire loops really close together and connect those loops with the carabeener instead.

I think it would be easier if it swung downwards. Secure the bottom of the fencing with a piece of wood and then put hinges on it so that it flips down and you could find a way to secure it on the top with a latch or whatnot. Maybe with a hook.

I actually watch a homesteading couple that has a similar run and they use two ratchet straps to hold their door and it swings downward with the concept I just put up above with the hinges.

I'll find the video where they show them so that you can see what I'm saying.

Suppose it’s both tbh.
Well, the chicken wire will not keep a determined predator out.
Hopefully there's a locked door between coop and run for at night.

Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, (laptop version shown), then it's always there!
