How to send your farmer to jail Update on Tester Amendment Post 239

Whow! Back up! Wait a minute!
I know it does not become radioactive, but for goodness sakes! It is rendered dead! No life giving nutrition is left in it!
I'll have to dig around for the data later on, but please, I beg of you to do some more research.

Wait, are you referring to veggies as well? I was just referring to meats - pork in particular. Irradiation is EXTREMELY effective at decontamination. I don't know about the effects on plant matter. My apologies if I wasn't clear on that.

It matters not what food is being irradiated. Its unnatural, and the whole contamination issue is easily taken care of by raising animals properly, outside of confinement and on grass, and requiring proper hygiene in the fields.

Oh, Q9; I could go on and on about this but I'll try to make this short. Although it isn't necessary to get every enzyme out of every bite of food we eat, it is pretty important that we consume LIVE foods with as many enzymes as we can. This is important to how our bodies work. Humans also need sunlight (which includes radiation) to process vitamin D and to help avoid cancers of internal organs. The United States has one of the highest rates of cancer in the world. Many of us have been brainwashed into thinking that we have to slather on the sunscreen before ANY sun exposure while the truth is that we need to absorb those unfiltered rays (in moderate amounts, of course) for our bodies to be healthy. You can read more about this in a book called 'The Healing Sun'. Sorry, I can't remember the author off hand and I have loaned the book out to a friend.

In my opinion, it is necessary to eat fresh, live foods, drink clean water, get out in the sunshine, breathe clean air and practice kindness for good health. I want my government to let me do that. I don't think its too much to ask.

I don't deny that the natural methods are the best - I totally agree. But let's face it, it's more expensive right now, and some people just can't afford it. Corporate farming does have a place - the problem being that they have all kinds of inane Federal regulations on their side to suffocate competitors. Irradiation is an excellent way to eliminate pathogens in meat. Pathogens that would be there anyway, no matter how the critter was raised, again pork in particular. It's reliable and has literally no ill effects. Until natural methods become more common (and therefore affordable) irradiation is the best we've got.

I... totally, 100% agree with the first paragraph.

Were you trying to make a point against or for me?

So sorry, Q9; its been a long day. LOL

After reading the other posts, I realized that you were refering to meats (already dead). What I meant was that radiation is not all bad for humans if it is in the form of sunlight, but it is not good for fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds AFTER they have been harvested if they are going to be consumed.

Even with the benefits of radiation making some meats safer to consume, I don't trust the FDA to do it in a way to keep me healthy. They have no incentive to do that. That's why I say to look at the lists of who supports and who opposes this bill. You'll notice that the 'big' makers of dead, enzymeless food that is mass produced and packaged are on the 'support' side while the smaller 'live' food proponents are on the 'oppose' side.

I invite everyone to think about this; what does the FDA have to gain to keep us all in good health? Not much money in that for the government...

Oh, I know. I don't trust the government with anything except national defense, and I'm wary about that. I'm just saying that irradiation of meats in and of itself isn't dangerous. Of course, now that I think about it, the FDA probably could find a way to screw it up.

OK, I am watching this right now, and I feel its very important.
Make sure to watch/listen to all of it prior to commenting.
Its super sad and scary.

Max Kane uncovered something very scary with regards to the FDA and our justice system.
