How to separate breeds during hatching?

Yep. I got all the eggs from reputable breeders and saw the parent stock. I’ll bring them inside and try and get some better photos! Little buggers are fast!

I don’t see any CCLs in there

Here are a couple of girls, a boy and a BLRW (I think!). We were busy today but tomorrow night I’ll bring them inside and take individual pics. I think I have them sorted out...still have one more CCL pipped and one surprise Orpington pip in the incubator.

I hope someone steps in ... could the grayish ones be splash laced red Wyandotte?

And I think one of the female Legbars may be a Wyandotte too. You should be able to tell by the comb. How many legbar eggs hatched?

Yes the Wyandottes may be blue, black or splash, as the breeder had one of each rooster in with his hens.

So far I’ve had 4 of 7 BLRW eggs hatch and 3 of 7 CCL hatch (and literally 1 more CCL just hatched). So I will have 4 of each after tonight. Will take pics of them individually tomorrow. Just want to make sure the right chicks go to the right homes!

Just wondering if anyone has found a good way to separate breeds when they are all due to hatch at the same time?

The one chick does appear to be a blue laced Wyandotte but the others still don't look like CCLs to me or not pure at least.

I’ve separated the chicks into what I believe are the CCL (group of 3) and the BLRW (group of 4). Hopefully I’m right! I’ll check w the breeder of them CCL and see if there’s any chance her girls had a secret rendezvous with a random Roo, you never know!
