How to sex a chick using a pencil

thats right I said it.

I used this pendulum theory once when setting my eggs. I set all the eggs that showed female, one egg that showed male, and one egg that showed female and male, it wasnt sure, lol, so I set it anyway.

I ended up with 2 male and the rest female when the hatch was over.

I think it would be interesting to have someone else who didn't know what to expect do it. Hand them the pendulum, give them instructions and see.

It's pretty easy to make the pendulum swing the way you expect it to, even if you're not consciously trying to.

I have pendulum for sale.

Just hold it over any egg. if it swing in a 0 the chick will be a ostrich or a quail(hard to see the dash of the Q. If it swings in a C shape the chick will be a chicken. If it swing in a straight line the chick will be a India peafowl.

Selling them for 150.00 each, plus 50.00 shipping. will refund purchase price but not shipping cost. Just think you can save that much, by setting only the eggs that will produce Ostrich chicks.

Now if the sex works, why do all the hatchery hatch so many males.

Ok,

My Uncle taught me about Water Witching and it seems to work. He had rods that just looked like metal coat hangers. He told me it worked off the refraction of what was below you. Water, sewer pipes, paper. I tried it in the city when I got home and it would cross every time I passed a yard sprinkler, etc.

As for Chickens, not chicks. I found that the Males hip bones are closer together. If you were examining the vent for illness, etc. if you fell the hip bones you will see what I mean. There is also a way to feather sex, but alais, it was not fool proof. I still end up with an Americana Roo every time.

Have bird salt for sale also only 50.00 per pound.

Just place a little on any birds tail. Then you can catch it.

Came from my grandmother, every bird I could put the salt on their tail. I could catch!!!

You guys are cracking me up!

Water witching does work--I use it all the time to find underground pipes, and other utility lines. Now I can't imagine how that chicken sexing method would work, but it made me wince when I saw the title! I suspect any preconceived ideas by the pencil-holder would translate easily into movement in the pencil.
